Then he would be able to raise funds for other life threatening genetic diseases as well. Sorry Mr. Lewis, why are you isolating other unfortunate people from charity. It would be better if you expand its horizon.

No, I am not saying this charity is monotonous but I only want it to expand its beneficiaries. Mr. Lewis you must visit patients suffering from thalassimia, cancer etc and you will know they are also having the same problems. Treatment costs of other such deadly diseases are also beyond pockets of a common man. Public awareness about such complex genetic diseases is also lacking. Mr. Lewis please wake up to my facts and conduct two telethons every year to cover up other such life threatening diseases. “Jerry Lewis Telethon” which is an invincible charity event will turn even more invincible if Jerry Lewis takes this wonderful initiative.

Myself being a doctor, I understand the adversities suffered by patients inflicted by such genetic killers. They suffer both physically and emotionally and lack of funds only multiplies their miseries. We as professionals try to help them but there is a limit to that but “Jerry Lewis Telethon” has crossed limits when it comes to raising funds. So please expand this river of charity to an ocean so that it meets wider needs.

Jerry Lewis is a modern times revolutionary as far as raising funds through charity is concerned. “Jerry LewisTelethon “,  for raising funds for those ailing with the  life threatening disease of muscular dystrophy has been continuing for many years and the river of funds still continues to meet with this vast ocean of charity.

All good acts in this world are backed by the grace of Almighty and in case of “Jerry Lewis Telethon“, Jerry Lewis has been a great medium. Jerry Lewis has not backtracked even a single year. He has been consistent in organizing of this rare event which is continuously screened for more than 20 hours on multiple television stations throughout America.

I, too, like charities which are transparent and honest in their operations and Jerry Lewis’s charity belongs to that league. I have been persistently donating funds towards this charity whenever “Jerry Lewis Telethon“, is organized. I have a separate bank account which is reserved for saving funds for donating to this great charity event meant for those suffering from muscular dystrophy. I have made it a habit to deposit money into this account every weekend.

“Jerry Lewis Telethon“, has often being criticized for being a partial event which focuses on physically challenged as objects of pity and that all their problems can be erased by funds alone. But I don’t accept the criticism of “Jerry Lewis Telethon“, as this criticism seems illogical and not backed by any substantial evidence.

We all agree that money is not everything but I must say that “For everything money is required”. I accept that the emotional problems faced by physically challenged are greater than their physical disabilities but if only emotional support is provided to them, then absence of money will definitely create a great void. The funds are required for the ongoing research for the treatment of this debilitating disease and to provide recourse to those suffering from it. Also management of a disease like muscular dystrophy is really very expensive. So this whole criticism of “Jerry Lewis Telethon“‘ is certainly unjustified.

As a final farewell, I would say, Jerry Lewis you have proved yourself to be a great citizen and patriot. Keep the “Jerry Lewis Telethon“, going forever.
