Jerry Lewis We Expect More From You
We need many more “Jerry Lewis Telethons” as charity event for just “Muscular Dystrophy” is not enough. This telethon by Jerry Lewis is an annual event but won’t it be wonderful if it is made into a half-yearly event. Then he would be able to raise funds for other life threatening genetic diseases as well. Sorry Mr. Lewis, why are you isolating other unfortunate people from charity. It would be better if you expand its horizon.
There is dearth of words when it comes to praising the efforts put up by this man in “Jerry Lewis Telethon” but it is getting monotonous over the years. No, I am not saying this charity is monotonous but I only want it to expand its beneficiaries. Mr. Lewis you must visit patients suffering from thalassimia, cancer etc and you will know they are also having the same problems. Treatment costs of other such deadly diseases are also beyond pockets of a common man. Public awareness about such complex genetic diseases is also lacking. Mr. Lewis please wake up to my facts and conduct two telethons every year to cover up other such life threatening diseases. “Jerry Lewis Telethon” which is an invincible charity event will turn even more invincible if Jerry Lewis takes this wonderful initiative.
Myself being a doctor, I understand the adversities suffered by patients inflicted by such genetic killers. They suffer both physically and emotionally and lack of funds only multiplies their miseries. We as professionals try to help them but there is a limit to that but “Jerry Lewis Telethon” has crossed limits when it comes to raising funds. So please expand this river of charity to an ocean so that it meets wider needs.
