Volunteers needed for ‘Jerry Lewis Telethon’

Telethon Muscular Dystrophy Association needs you. As we all know that Muscular Dystrophy Association presents ‘Jerry Lewis Telethon‘ every year, this year’s date of broadcasting has also been finalized. The 44th annual Jerry Lewis Telethon will be aired on WLFI-TV Channel 18 on 6th and 7th of next month.

For your kind information let me tell you that MDA is a nonprofit health agency dedicated to cure muscular dystrophy. It is a disease that weakens the muscle that moves the body. It is described as progressive skeletal muscle weakness and death of muscle cells and tissue. Diseases such as duchenne, becker, limb girdle, congenital, facioscapulohumeral, myotonic, oculopharyngeal, distal, and Emery-Dreifuss are classified as muscular dystrophy. There are more than 100 diseases similar to this disease. Most types of MD are multi-system disorders with symptoms in body including the heart, skin, eyes, nervous system and other organs. The most shocking news about this disease is that it is incurable.

Ok. If you want to know in what areas volunteers are needed then you can go through the following list.

1. Telephone trainers to instruct volunteers on how to manage the phones

2. Messengers to help route pledges to the appropriate areas

3. Legibility and routing volunteers to insure pledges are written neatly and completely

4. Registration which will welcome volunteers and guests.

5. Separate and sorting to help separate pledges for two mailings and help with stuffing envelopes to pledges.
